New Class Feature Formats (and more!)

Hello backers!

I hope everyone has been well.  We are pushing ahead, and I'm very excited for our July update - but first, we wanted to show you all what we've been fishing up for the book (heh)

Initially, we were designing this book to feel very much like a 1st party fifth edition book - but after working with the material further - we believe we can format our book differently - aligning more with our design principles of minimizing your time reading the book and maximizing your time playing the game. 

We think the readability of a class feature is super important - utilizing bulleted lists and new formats to display how to use an ability and when you can use it again.  

We are currently going through the Playtest - Subclass packet with this format, thus why it's taking a little longer to get you the new version and the surveys.

Playtest #1 Packet Surveys this week - and more updates!!

Hello all! It has been a wild two months, but we have made some excellent progress with Why Slay Dragons when you could be FISHING book!  Here's what we've got going on!

Playtest #1 - Subclass Surveys releasing this week

A couple of weeks ago, we released our first-ever playtest packet on our playtest server!  Thank you to everyone joining and discussing what we've been working on! (If you are not on the server and want to be, look below for instructions on how to join!)

This week we will release Playtest #1 - Subclass ver 1.03 from the initial feedback, along with clarification on language, spelling errors, etc.  Along with that, we will be releasing 12 (yep, 12) surveys - each one focusing on a particular subclass!

We are looking for information on the following:

• What was your favorite feature of the subclass, and why?
• What was your least favorite feature of the subclass, and why?
• Was the subclass enjoyable to play?

We hope your feedback will help us continue to flesh out the classes while we work on the rest of the book.

You put your faith in us to deliver on the product you are interested in, and we want to keep everyone in the loop on what is being worked on every month.

We will be making status updates on how far along we are when developing the book - from what has been written, what designs have been finalized, and art that's been working on.  We will also inform you of any other updates we may be giving that month so you have something to look forward to!  We don't want to stop communicating with you and want to keep you excited (as much as we are!) about what's being developed. 

Playtest Discord Server

Our private Playtest Discord Server has under 400 backers on it - with plenty of room from our 1500 backers!  If you're interested in joining our playtest community - here's how you can join:

You can join our discord today, where you must be verified as a backer.  You must have backed a labeled tier or at least be a $30 backer to join our playtest server.

• Step 2: Fill out our Google Form verifying your identity: https://forms.gle/GD9pT9ixRJCUGWg18

The Discord is named WSD: Fishing Playtest Server

We have gone through every Google Form entry and added who we could.  If you are still not verified on the server, these were the common issues we saw:

• Name/Email did not correspond to any Backer data.
• Discord name could not be found on the playtest server.

If you filled out the form and are still not verified, please be sure to fill out the form again - and make sure that your name/email matches your backer data - and that you are joining the server with the discord handle you've put in the Google form!

Backerkit Surveys have been sent out to everyone!

We have sent out all the surveys from Backerkit. Responding to your survey as quickly as possible is essential since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You do not need to create a BackerKit account to complete your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

Due to the volatility of shipping prices globally right now, shipping fees for this project will be calculated at a later date once we have the best estimates for everyone. We plan to enter & charge backers for shipping a month or two before fulfillment when we have better estimates of what it will cost to ship backers rewards. We will alert backers when shipping costs are finalized & before we charge your cards in your BackerKit survey. We will keep you informed all along the way!

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under “Lost your survey?” on our BackerKit project page at https://wsdfishing.backerkit.com

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please get in touch with support at https://wsdfishing.backerkit.com/faq

After surveys are sent, and you did not receive the email, and you Signed in with Apple through Kickstarter., your email address might be a private relay email address. We can help locate your survey and update your email address, please message us through Kickstarter with your Backer ID # found on your Kickstarter confirmation. You can learn more about your email hiding for your Apple ID here.
